FC Barcelona will return to their best form after the match over Ajax

Gerardo Martino believes that FC Barcelona will slowly return to their best form after Wednesday night's 4-0 win over Ajax in the Champions League.

Barça got a comfortable victory at Camp Nou thanks to a Lionel Messi hat-trick and a goal from the defender Gerard Pique.

"Barcelona recently reached football excellence and, therefore, the fans are more demanding," Martino told reporters.

He also said: "We're getting back to where FC Barcelona has always been. We are still making mistakes but we are improving game by game. In general I thought the team well. We need to keep the performance levels up over the whole 90 minutes”.

"We didn't play well in the first half, with many long balls. We were better in the second half, better in terms of our passing game. People are saying we're trying to change the style but that's not true. We are looking for alternatives. It doesn’t mean that we're changing the style if we add alternatives to our game", continued Martino.

Jordi Alba, FC Barcelona’s player, will be out for 3 weeks because of a leg injury

A leg injury will make Jordi Alba not to participate in Barcelona's Champions League  at home against Ajax on Wednesday and its second group phase match at Celtic on October 1st.

FC Barcelona says that Jordi Alba will be out for around three weeks after tearing a muscle in his right leg.

Alba was substituted in Saturday's Spanish league match, a 3-2 win over Sevilla.

Alba, a Spanish international star, scored the first goal in a 2-0 win over Finland in a World Cup qualifier last week.

2013-14 FC Barcelona’s third kit

Nike has sponsored FC Barcelona’s 2013-14 third kit. It was one of the last kits that were yet to be officially known.

Yesterday, FC Barcelona’s president, Sandro Rosell, told the Catalan RAC1 radio channel that the new kit would be the most ever sold kit and that will be used as the third kit at the club.

The kit design is very simple. The colour of the jersey is black, with a round simple collar and yellow line on the side of the shirt. The UNICEF logo is marked at the back with deep yellow.

AC Milan striker, Stephan El Shaarawy, believes that Neymar is the best player in the world right now

Neymar completed a €57million move to Barça from Santos during the summer.

Lionel Messi, Neymar's new team-mate, is the bookmakers' favourite to win this year's the Ballon d'Or, ahead of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Franck Ribery, but El Shaarawy believes that Neymar deserves to win the FIFA award.

"I would say that Neymar is the best player in the world at the moment. I played against him in Geneva with Italy in March and he was simply incredible on the ball", he told the reporters.

Neymar was linked with a number of clubs earlier this year and Sandro Rosell, FC Barcelona’s president, revealed this week that Real Madrid tried to convince the young soccer star to move to the Bernabeu until a contract at Camp Nou was signed.

"When we reached to an initial agreement with Neymar's father, the player had already passed a medical with Madrid, so we joked we would not bother with our own check-up," Rosell told to TV3.

FC Barcelona, winner of Spain’s Supercopa 2013

FC Barcelona won their 16th trophy in five years after a scoreless draw against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of Spain’s Supercopa.

The teams were knotted 1-1 and Barça got the title thanks to their away goal in last week’s first leg at Atletico’s Vicente Calderon stadium.

Barcelona’s first championship under their new coach, Gerardo “Tata” Martino, was the fruit of the squad’s strong second-half performance a week ago in Madrid.

Wednesday’s game offered little in the way of excitement and the level of enthusiasm among the Barça at the Nou Camp reflected the absence of brilliance on the field.

Barcelona controlled the ball for almost the entire first half, yet it was Atletico that came closest to scoring, forcing Barça goalkeeper Victor Valdés to make two big saves.

The home side’s best chance came on a penalty in the 80th minute, but super-striker Lionel Messi hit the crossbar, while the visitors saw the possibility of a last-minute surge slip away with the expulsion of two players in the final 10 minutes of regulation.

Leo Messi teaches a dance class in the latest Qatar Airways Advertisement

Qatar Airways put its sponsorship of FC Barcelona Spanish soccer champions in a beautiful advertisement about an imaginary country entirely devoted to the Catalan team.

The spot is set in the mythical "Land of FCB," a country full of posters, cars, and clothing featuring FC Barcelona's team colours. Mixed among the citizens, we can see the world's greatest soccer players, including Lionel Messi and Gerard Piqué.

Accompanied by Jackie Wilson, Messi teaches a soccer dance class, and Carles Puyol hits a potted plant falling out of a window as if it were a soccer ball. Have a look:
